Raised Garden Beds are all the rave right now in the garden and farming culture. Whats trending even more is creating these garden beds out of recycled material. There are so many wonderful resources available now a days that help you design and create a raised bed that fits your needs. In this blog I have taken all these different resources and combined them into the ultimate raised garden bed how to manual. Are you ready? Lets get started!
1. Decide what you want to grow. This will determine what needs to go into your bed in order for maximum growth opportunity! This diagram below is a great general way to lay the inside of your raised bed. We also recommend using a compost

2. Whats your garden's personality? Are you rustic, clean-cut, industrial, modern, hipster? Raised beds give you as the gardener the opportunity to express you own unique style by designing what you want the outside of your raised planter to be. If you are looking to stay as environmental as possible we suggest recycling old pallets into a beautiful, cheap, environment friendly, and durable garden bed. For a pallet raised garden bed check out this DIYers suggestions.

3. Once you have decided on the style you want its then time to determine the size and hight of your raised bed. The recommended width is about 4 feet wide, this is for easy weeding, planting, and waterings. But of course, the design plans are in your hands, so make the bed as wide as you please. The average height of the box is about a foot deep. If you have mobility constraints it might be better to create a hight box that is around 32 inches deep.
4. Lastly gather your needed materials and get to work!
